BreedProof

BreedProof is a web + mobile AI app for small-to-mid livestock breeders who have pedigree records but no practical genetic decision tools. Users import pedigrees (CSV/registry export), basic performance traits, and optional SNP/genotype files. The app calculates inbreeding coefficients, kinship matrices, and predicts expected progeny outcomes for key traits using simple genomic/pedigree BLUP-style scoring (where data allows). It then generates mating recommendations that balance genetic gain vs. inbreeding risk, flags “popular sire” overuse, and produces a shareable breeding plan report for buyers, vets, and breed associations. The product is intentionally narrow: decision support and documentation, not a full farm management suite. Reality check: without good data, recommendations will be mediocre; the app focuses on making data entry/import painless and showing uncertainty clearly so users don’t overtrust it.
