BriefLocal

BriefLocal is a web app that turns messy “please translate this” requests into consistent, brand-safe localization output. Teams upload a document (marketing page, help article, app strings), then create a reusable “translation brief” that includes tone, banned phrases, glossary, audience, reading level, and examples of good/bad translations. The app generates a first-pass translation using an LLM, but the real value is the workflow: reviewers get side-by-side diffs, terminology alerts, and a simple approval checklist. It exports clean files (DOCX/HTML/JSON) and keeps a translation memory so recurring phrases stay consistent across campaigns. It’s not trying to beat Google Translate on raw speed; it’s trying to stop expensive rework, brand damage, and endless back-and-forth between marketers and translators.
