BriefRedact

BriefRedact is a secure web + desktop app that helps intelligence and defense teams quickly sanitize documents for sharing across classification boundaries. It ingests Word/PDF/text, detects sensitive entities (sources, methods, locations, unit identifiers, collection platforms, case numbers), and produces a redacted version with a defensible audit trail: what was removed, why, by which policy rule, and who approved it. It supports “two-person integrity” review, templated release packages, and export to PDF with irreversible redaction. This is an AI + traditional app: AI proposes redactions and risk scores, but humans must approve before release. Reality check: selling into intelligence is slow, procurement-heavy, and security accreditation is brutal; the product must be deployable on-prem/air-gapped and work even when models can’t call the internet. If you can meet that bar, it becomes a daily workflow tool, not a demo toy.
