BrollBuddy
BrollBuddy is a web + desktop AI-assisted logging tool for documentary editors drowning in unsorted interviews, verité, and B-roll. You import proxies, and it auto-generates searchable transcripts, speaker labels, and scene-level summaries, then builds a “story map” timeline of themes, characters, locations, and key moments. The core value is not editing video inside the app—it’s making your NLE work faster by exporting clean markers, selects, and paper edits to Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. It also tracks what footage supports which claims (who said what, when, and in which clip) to reduce embarrassing continuity and factual mistakes. Realistically, this won’t replace an editor; it replaces weeks of assistant-editor logging and the chaos of spreadsheets, notes, and half-remembered clip names.
