BudgetTrace

BudgetTrace is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for public-sector budget execution teams to reconcile planned vs. committed vs. spent funds in near real time. It ingests transactions from ERP/IFMIS systems, bank statements, and procurement tools, then flags mismatches like over-commitments, duplicate vendor payments, wrong fund/cost-center coding, and late reversals that distort monthly close. A rules engine handles policy constraints (appropriation limits, earmarks, grant restrictions), while an AI layer suggests likely root causes and the exact documents to request from departments. The app produces audit-ready trails: who approved what, when, and under which authority. It also generates standardized execution dashboards for leadership without forcing analysts to live in spreadsheets. Realistically, the hardest part is integrations and data quality; the product wins by making messy execution data usable and defensible quickly.
