BufferBeacon

BufferBeacon is a web app (with lightweight mobile companion) that helps streaming teams diagnose and reduce buffering, startup delay, and playback errors by correlating player-side QoE telemetry with CDN, ISP, device, and geography signals. It provides a “blame map” that highlights whether issues are likely caused by encoding ladders, manifest/DRM failures, CDN edge performance, last‑mile ISP congestion, or specific device models/OS versions. The MVP focuses on fast integration via a JavaScript/SDK snippet for web players and a simple iOS/Android SDK, then a dashboard that surfaces anomalies, regression alerts after releases, and recommended mitigations (e.g., adjust ABR ladder, switch CDN routing, tweak segment duration). This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used for anomaly detection, root-cause clustering, and plain-English incident summaries for non-expert operators.
