BuildPermit
BuildPermit is a web + desktop app that pre-flights user-generated content (mods, maps, skins, scripts) against a game’s technical and policy constraints before creators publish. Creators upload a build, and the app runs automated checks: dependency conflicts, performance budgets (polycount, texture sizes, draw calls), forbidden APIs, unsafe file access, licensing red flags, and platform-specific packaging rules. It generates a clear pass/fail report with actionable fixes and a “compliance badge” creators can attach to their release. For studios and community managers, it provides a ruleset editor, versioned guidelines, and moderation queues that prioritize risky submissions. This is not magic: it won’t prevent all exploits, and it requires per-game rulesets and integration. But it can drastically reduce broken uploads and moderation load for games with active modding/UGC ecosystems.
