BuildShard

BuildShard is a web + desktop app for indie and mid-size studios to distribute internal game builds securely to QA, external playtesters, creators, and publishers. It focuses on the unglamorous but painful middle ground between emailing links and running a full Steam branch workflow. Teams upload builds, assign access by cohort, and get a lightweight launcher that handles delta updates, rollback, and crash-log collection. Each build can be gated with expiring invites, watermarking, and device limits to reduce leaks. It also provides simple release notes, feedback capture tied to build/version, and basic analytics (install success, update failures, session count). This is not a consumer store; it’s a “private distribution pipe” that integrates with CI so every successful build can be published to the right group automatically. The goal is fewer broken installs, fewer leaked builds, and faster iteration cycles.
