BuoySync
BuoySync is a web + mobile app (traditional + AI) that helps marine researchers and small programs manage data coming from low-cost ocean sensors (temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity) and ad-hoc deployments (buoys, piers, kayaks, USVs). The core problem today is messy: different vendors, inconsistent timestamps, missing metadata, and spreadsheets that break collaboration. BuoySync ingests files and live feeds, forces minimal metadata standards, flags anomalies, and produces analysis-ready exports for common workflows. AI is used sparingly: automatic unit normalization, sensor drift detection suggestions, and natural-language “what changed this week?” summaries for field teams and PIs. It’s not a replacement for scientific analysis; it’s a practical data plumbing layer that reduces time wasted cleaning data and chasing context. The MVP focuses on reliability, audit trails, and simple sharing rather than fancy visualizations.
