BurstBudget is a web app (with optional lightweight desktop agent) for capacity planning across object storage, block volumes, and file shares. It connects to AWS S3/EBS/EFS, Azure Storage, and Google Cloud Storage to pull usage, growth rates, request patterns, and lifecycle policy effects. The app forecasts “runway” (days until quota/cost thresholds), flags risky growth inflection points, and simulates what-if scenarios like enabling tiering, changing retention, or adding compression/dedup upstream. It’s brutally practical: it won’t pretend to predict the future perfectly; instead it shows confidence ranges, highlights the assumptions, and tells you exactly which datasets are driving risk. Alerts route to Slack/Teams and create tickets with recommended actions and estimated savings. The MVP focuses on accurate ingestion, simple forecasting, and clear decision reports rather than fancy dashboards.
