BurstBudget

BurstBudget is a web app (with optional CLI) that helps teams run realistic load tests while keeping cloud spend predictable. Instead of “spin up a huge test and pray,” it estimates cost before execution, enforces hard budgets, and automatically scales the load profile to fit constraints (time, target RPS, regions, and concurrency). It integrates with common load generators (k6, JMeter, Locust) and runs them on ephemeral infrastructure. During a test, it tracks live spend signals and throttles or pauses when you’re about to blow the budget. Afterward, it produces a report that ties performance results to cost-per-transaction and cost-per-1k requests, making it easier to justify optimizations. This is not a magic performance-fixer; it’s a guardrail product for teams that already do load testing but hate the financial uncertainty and operational overhead.
