BusBunchFix

BusBunchFix is a mobile + web AI app that detects and predicts bus “bunching” (when buses arrive in clusters, then long gaps) and turns that into actionable guidance for riders and transit agencies. For riders, it shows a reliability score per route/stop, predicts the next true headway (not just scheduled time), and suggests smarter options: walk to a nearby stop, take a parallel route, or delay departure by a few minutes. For agencies and operators, it flags emerging bunching hotspots in real time and recommends interventions (short-turn, holding, stop-skipping) with estimated impact. The app relies on public GTFS-RT feeds where available and crowdsourced “bus seen” pings when feeds are missing or low quality. This is not glamorous, but it targets a daily, measurable pain: unreliable buses waste time and reduce ridership.
