BusPing

BusPing is a mobile + web app that gives families and schools reliable, real-time school bus ETAs and arrival notifications without requiring districts to buy expensive fleet hardware. Drivers (or monitors) run a simple “route mode” on a district-issued phone that shares location only during scheduled route windows. Parents get accurate pickup/drop-off ETAs, delay reasons, and geofenced alerts (“bus 2 minutes away,” “student dropped off”). Admins see route health dashboards, chronic delay hotspots, and communication logs for disputes. The AI layer cleans noisy GPS signals, predicts ETAs from historical traffic + route patterns, and flags anomalies (bus off-route, long stop, missed stop) for quick intervention. It’s built for privacy: minimal data retention, role-based access, and opt-in student association. The goal is fewer calls to the front office, fewer missed pickups, and less chaos during weather and staffing disruptions.
