BusProof
BusProof is a mobile + web app that verifies whether a bus is actually coming, using a blend of official GTFS-realtime feeds (when available) and crowdsourced “I see it” confirmations from riders at stops. Riders open the app, select their stop, and see a confidence score for each arriving bus: Confirmed (multiple recent sightings), Likely (vehicle telemetry or consistent rider pings), or Uncertain (schedule-only). The app nudges users to quickly confirm arrivals with one tap and optional photo, rewarding consistent contributors with small perks (badges, local deals, or transit credits if agencies partner). It also flags common failure modes—ghost buses, detours, and short-turns—so riders can switch routes earlier. This is not a route planner; it’s a reliability layer that sits on top of existing transit apps and focuses on the single question riders care about: “Is it actually coming?”
