BycatchWatch

BycatchWatch is a mobile + web app for small and mid-size fishing vessels to record catch and bycatch in a fast, standardized way and generate buyer-ready compliance reports. Crews log species, estimated weights, gear type, location grid (coarse, not exact), and optional photos; the app works offline and syncs when back in range. A lightweight AI model helps suggest species from photos and flags inconsistent entries (e.g., impossible sizes or season mismatches), but humans stay in control. The web dashboard produces audit-friendly PDFs and data exports aligned to common buyer and fishery program requirements (MSC-style evidence, retailer questionnaires, and internal QA). This is not a “save the ocean” toy—it's paperwork reduction and market access. Monetization is per-vessel subscription with optional “report pack” fees for processors/exporters.
