CableSleuth

CableSleuth is a mobile + desktop companion app for musicians and small venues to diagnose and track instrument/audio cables and adapters. You plug a tiny, inexpensive USB-C audio interface (or supported TRRS dongle) into your phone/laptop, run a guided test, and the app checks continuity, intermittent crackle, polarity/phase issues, and basic noise pickup using simple test tones and movement prompts. Each cable gets a QR label so you can log test results, last-known-good date, and failure notes (e.g., “fails when bent near XLR end”). It’s not magic: it won’t replace a full bench tester, and it can’t perfectly detect every fault. But it catches the most common real-world failures that waste rehearsal time and ruin gigs, and it builds a practical maintenance history so you stop arguing about which cable is “fine.”
