CalmCheckin
CalmCheckin is a mobile app (with a parent web dashboard) that helps kids ages 7–12 build basic emotional awareness without pretending to be therapy. Kids do a 60-second mood check-in using simple icons, short prompts, and optional voice notes. The app turns patterns into clear, non-alarming summaries for parents/caregivers (e.g., “more irritability on school nights”) and offers evidence-based micro-skills (breathing, grounding, “name it to tame it,” short movement breaks). It includes a “when to escalate” guide and a crisis resources page, but it does not diagnose, label, or replace professional care. An AI layer can summarize trends and suggest age-appropriate coping exercises, while keeping content tightly constrained and safety-filtered. The goal is earlier detection of stress signals and better parent-child conversations, not a chatbot best friend.
