CanonCheck is a web + mobile app that helps fan communities verify “news,” leaks, screenshots, and rumor threads before they go viral. Fans paste a link, upload an image, or forward a post; the app runs source tracing, reverse-image checks, and cross-post similarity detection, then returns a simple credibility score with evidence (original upload time, likely edits, repost network, and known satire/impersonation flags). Community mods get a shared dashboard to label items as Confirmed, Unverified, Satire, or Debunked, and can publish a “community verdict” card that’s easy to share back to X/Reddit/Discord. It also maintains a lightweight creator-approved sources list (official accounts, press outlets, partner newsletters) so communities can quickly see what’s actually reliable. Monetization is via mod-team subscriptions and creator community plans; casual users get limited free checks.
