CanopyScout
CanopyScout is a mobile + web app for small forestry teams to run consistent forest health surveys without needing expensive enterprise GIS. In the field, users follow offline checklists for plots (tree species, DBH, canopy cover, pests/disease signs, invasive plants, storm damage), attach geotagged photos, and auto-generate standardized reports when back online. An AI layer helps label common issues from photos (e.g., bark beetle patterns, leaf discoloration) and flags anomalies compared to prior visits, but it never “decides” management actions—users stay in control. The web dashboard aggregates trends by stand/parcel, exports to CSV/PDF, and creates simple maps for landowners and grant reporting. This is not a carbon-credit platform; it’s a practical operations tool aimed at reducing missed issues and making repeat monitoring actually happen.
