CapCheck is a mobile + web app for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers to standardize and document “device readiness” checks for reusable and loaner medical devices (e.g., endoscopes, power tools, cameras). Staff scan a barcode/QR on the device or tray, then follow a short, facility-approved checklist: completeness, accessories present, battery/firmware status, visible damage, and required test results. The app time-stamps, assigns responsibility, and stores photo evidence when something is off. It also flags patterns (e.g., a specific vendor’s loaners arriving incomplete) and generates simple audit-ready reports for risk management and biomed. This is not glamorous, but it reduces case delays, last-minute scrambling, and “we can’t prove we checked it” incidents. Realistically, adoption hinges on making the workflow faster than paper and integrating with existing inventory/CMMS tools.
