CaptiveKey

CaptiveKey is a mobile + desktop companion that helps people get online quickly when stuck behind hotel, airport, café, hospital, or apartment “captive portals” (the login/accept-terms pages). It detects when your connection is blocked by a portal, opens the correct login page reliably, and can auto-fill common fields (room number, last name, email) using encrypted profiles you control. For businesses and venues, it can store multiple portal workflows (different SSIDs, different pages) and share them with a team so staff aren’t repeatedly troubleshooting “Wi‑Fi connected but no internet.” It also warns when a portal uses suspicious redirects or invalid certificates and provides a one-tap fallback checklist (DNS reset, renew lease, switch to cellular hotspot). This is not magic: it can’t bypass paywalls or authentication, but it can remove the friction and confusion that wastes time.
