CareRelay is a mobile + web app that helps parents and employers secure last-minute backup childcare when school closes, a sitter cancels, or a child is mildly sick. It focuses on speed and reliability: parents post a request with location, timing, child ages, and special needs; the system pings a small pool of pre-vetted caregivers who are actually available now. An AI-assisted matching layer ranks candidates by proximity, verified credentials, prior reliability (on-time rate, cancellations), and fit (infant experience, allergies, neurodiversity familiarity). Payments, time tracking, and incident reporting are built in to reduce disputes. For employers, a lightweight portal offers subsidized credits, usage reporting, and policy controls without building a full childcare program. This isn’t trying to be a generic nanny marketplace; it’s designed for urgent, short-notice coverage with clear SLAs and penalties for no-shows.
