CartPause

CartPause is a mobile app + browser extension that forces a short “cool-off” workflow before non-essential purchases. It detects checkout moments (email receipts, browser checkout pages, or manual quick-add) and asks you to pick a reason, set a 24–72 hour hold, and choose a replacement action (wait, buy used, borrow, or skip). It tracks “urge spend” patterns by merchant category and time of day, then shows a weekly Conscious Score with concrete insights like “late-night delivery is costing you $120/month.” Unlike full budgeting apps, it doesn’t require linking every account to be useful; you can start with just the extension and optional receipt scanning. If you do link accounts, it auto-tags discretionary spending and highlights repeat impulse triggers. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s reducing regret purchases with minimal setup.
