CartShield

CartShield is a mobile + web app that predicts the “return friction” of electronics purchases before checkout. It aggregates retailer return windows, restocking fees, shipping costs, warranty terms, and common denial reasons, then scores each product/retailer combo with a simple risk grade. Users can scan a product page URL or barcode, see a side-by-side of return policies, and get a checklist of what to keep (box, seals, serial photos) to avoid disputes. The app also stores receipts, serial numbers, and unboxing photos in a single “proof packet” that can be exported when a return goes sideways. This is not glamorous, but it targets a real pain: expensive tech purchases with confusing policies, inconsistent support, and time-wasting returns. Monetization: freemium with paid “Proof Packet” storage and premium policy alerts; affiliate revenue is possible but shouldn’t be the core.
