CaseLatch is a web app (with optional lightweight desktop agent) for managing legal holds and defensible preservation across email, chat, and file systems. It focuses on the unglamorous but constant pain: proving who was notified, what was preserved, when reminders went out, and when releases happened. The MVP avoids pretending to be full eDiscovery; instead it provides a clean workflow for issuing holds, collecting acknowledgements, maintaining custodian lists, tracking data sources, and generating an audit-ready timeline. A small AI layer helps draft hold notices from templates and suggests likely custodians/data sources based on matter type, but the product is designed to work even when AI is disabled (because legal teams often require that). It integrates with Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for directory sync and basic preservation checklists rather than deep content collection.
