CashGuard

CashGuard is a mobile + web app that puts real-time “speed bumps” between you and impulse spending. Connect your bank/card accounts and set simple rules like: pause any non-essential purchase over $40, cap daily discretionary spend, or require a 2-minute cooldown for specific merchants (food delivery, rideshare, online shopping). When a transaction is about to happen, CashGuard sends a push notification with a one-tap choice: allow, delay, or swap to a cheaper alternative budget bucket. It also provides a weekly “leak report” showing the top 5 spending triggers (time of day, merchants, categories) and what those leaks cost you monthly. This isn’t another budgeting dashboard; it’s a behavior-control layer that reduces regret purchases. Revenue comes from a subscription and optional partner offers (cashback, cheaper subscriptions) that users can opt into.
