CastCache is a web + desktop app that sits between your live encoder and your viewers to reduce buffering and “black screen” moments during live broadcasts. It creates a rolling, low-latency buffer at the edge (via CDN worker logic) and can instantly fail over between two ingest sources (primary + backup) without forcing viewers to refresh. For publishers, it provides a simple dashboard showing stream health, segment loss, latency drift, and regional playback errors, plus one-click “safe mode” that temporarily increases segment duration to stabilize shaky networks. This is not a full CDN replacement; it’s a reliability layer you can add on top of your existing HLS/DASH workflow. The MVP focuses on ingest monitoring, automated failover, and playback continuity for the most common live streaming setups used by small-to-mid broadcasters and event producers.
