CasteArchive

CasteArchive is a web + mobile app for documenting and exploring the real, messy history of Hindu caste and community identities without turning it into a debate club. Users can build community pages (gotra/clan, region, occupations, migration routes, local names, temple ties) backed by citations: gazetteers, court records, census reports, academic papers, and oral-history transcripts. A structured “claim + source” format forces evidence, while a moderation workflow reduces propaganda and harassment. The app includes a neutral glossary, timelines, and regional maps so people can understand how identities changed over time. It’s not a matchmaking or “find my caste” toy; it’s a research-grade archive aimed at transparency and harm reduction. Expect slow growth: trust, moderation, and sourcing are hard, but the content becomes a durable asset once built.
