CastSync

CastSync is a web + mobile field app for oceanography teams that standardizes cruise metadata and sample logs in real time. Instead of chasing spreadsheets, photos of notebooks, and inconsistent station naming, the app provides structured forms for CTD casts, bottle samples, net tows, and sensor deployments, with offline-first capture on deck and automatic sync when connectivity returns. It exports directly to common lab and repository formats (CSV templates, BCO-DMO-style metadata packages, and simple JSON) and maintains an audit trail of edits so PIs can trust what changed and when. A lightweight AI assistant can suggest missing fields (e.g., units, instrument IDs, plausible ranges) and flag obvious inconsistencies, but it never “invents” data—users must confirm. The goal is fewer post-cruise data fires, faster QA, and smoother data publication.
