CertChain is a web + mobile app that helps jewelers, dealers, and serious buyers verify gemstone and diamond provenance by consolidating lab reports, ownership transfers, and supporting documents into a tamper-evident digital record. Users scan a QR/NFC tag on a parcel or jewelry item, then view a timeline of certificates (GIA/IGI/HRD uploads), seller attestations, photos, and transaction checkpoints. The AI component flags inconsistencies (e.g., mismatched measurements, suspicious re-uploads, altered PDFs) and assigns a confidence score, but it does not “grade” stones—because phone-based grading is unreliable and would destroy trust. The product focuses on reducing fraud, chargebacks, and reputational damage rather than promising perfect authentication. Monetization is per-verification and per-item “passport” subscription for inventory, with enterprise plans for multi-store chains.
