ChainCustody

ChainCustody is a mobile + web app for owners and small dealers of heirloom and estate jewelry to document provenance, condition, and custody changes with audit-friendly records. Users create an item profile with photos, measurements, hallmarks, repair history, and supporting documents (appraisals, receipts, lab reports). A guided workflow helps capture “good enough” provenance without pretending to be a museum-grade system. Optional AI assists by extracting key fields from PDFs, suggesting standardized descriptions, and flagging missing documentation. When an item is loaned to a jeweler, consigned, shipped, or inherited, the app logs a time-stamped custody event and generates a shareable read-only link for insurers, buyers, or family members. It also supports private “family access” so heirs can find what exists, where it is, and what it’s worth—without exposing sensitive details publicly.
