ChainTrace is a mobile + web outbreak response app for rapid, low-friction contact tracing and follow-up in the field. It focuses on the messy reality: incomplete interviews, changing phone numbers, shared households, and intermittent connectivity. Field staff can capture exposure events, locations, and relationships in minutes, then generate prioritized follow-up lists based on risk rules set by the health department. The app works offline-first on mobile, syncs when connected, and provides a web dashboard for supervisors to monitor workload, overdue follow-ups, and hotspots without needing a full data team. It includes an AI-assisted interview note summarizer that converts free-text call notes into structured fields (symptoms, onset date, exposure type) while keeping humans in control. This is not a consumer app; it’s built for public health operations that need speed, auditability, and minimal training.
