ChantCoach

ChantCoach is a mobile app (iOS/Android) plus a lightweight web dashboard for choir directors. It helps Orthodox chanters practice Byzantine chant more effectively by providing reference recordings, ison support, and real-time pitch/rhythm feedback while they sing. Users pick a hymn (starting with a curated public-domain library), choose a mode, set tempo, and record a take. The app visualizes where the singer drifted sharp/flat and flags problem phrases for repetition drills. Choir directors can assign practice sets for upcoming services and review progress without chasing people over text messages. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for the library, assignments, and playback; AI/audio ML for pitch tracking, phrase alignment, and personalized drills. It’s realistic because it focuses on practice and feedback, not trying to “replace” a protopsaltis or teach theology.
