ChantCoach
ChantCoach helps Buddhists learn and practice chants with accurate pacing, pronunciation guidance, and tradition-specific versions. Users pick a lineage (Theravada, Zen, Tibetan, etc.), choose a chant, then practice with a call-and-response mode that listens and scores timing and syllable accuracy. It includes transliteration, native script, and meaning notes, plus adjustable tempo and breath markers for longer recitations. The app is realistic about what it can’t do: it won’t replace a teacher, and it won’t claim “perfect” pronunciation across all languages. Instead, it focuses on consistent practice, reducing embarrassment in group chanting, and making it easier for diaspora communities to keep liturgy alive. It also supports offline mode for temples with poor connectivity and a simple “practice streak” that doesn’t gamify spirituality too aggressively.
