ChaosGate

ChaosGate is a web app (with lightweight CLI agent) that runs controlled “system-level failure drills” in staging and pre-prod: kill dependencies, inject latency, corrupt config, rotate secrets, exhaust disk, and simulate third-party outages. It focuses on system testing realities that unit/integration suites miss: resilience, timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, and operational readiness. Teams define experiments as simple policies (what to break, blast radius, rollback rules) and schedule them around releases. The app collects signals from your existing observability stack, then produces a pass/fail report tied to SLOs (error rate, p95 latency, queue depth) with a clear timeline of events. It’s an AI-assisted app: it suggests experiments based on recent incidents, code changes, and dependency graphs, but execution is deterministic and auditable. Expect friction: you’ll need buy-in from DevOps/SRE and good staging parity, or results will be noisy.
