ChargeGuard

ChargeGuard is a mobile + web app that watches your credit card transactions and flags risky, unexpected, or duplicate charges fast—then guides you through the dispute and cancellation steps. It connects via Plaid to pull transactions, detects patterns like “free trial converting,” stealth price hikes, duplicate merchant descriptors, and recurring charges you forgot. When something looks off, it generates a one-tap dispute packet: timeline, screenshots, merchant details, and the exact issuer-specific steps (including chat/phone scripts). It also tracks dispute deadlines, provisional credits, and outcomes so you don’t lose by missing paperwork. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to classify merchants, identify recurrence patterns, and draft dispute messages, but the core value is workflow and deadline management. Realistically, it won’t prevent every fraud case, but it will reduce the most common ‘death by a thousand charges’ problem.
