ChargeGuard

ChargeGuard is a Shopify web app that detects and reduces chargebacks by combining order-risk signals with post-purchase customer communication. It monitors high-risk patterns (first-time buyers, mismatched billing/shipping, velocity, unusual cart composition, IP/geo anomalies) and automatically triggers smart interventions: instant address confirmation, delivery-date expectations, and a one-click “resolve this issue” portal before a customer disputes a charge. It also pulls carrier tracking events to flag “stuck in transit” shipments and proactively offers options (refund, reship, store credit) based on your rules. For disputes that still happen, it generates evidence packets (order timeline, customer messages, tracking, policy acceptance) and pushes them to your payment provider workflow. This isn’t magic: it won’t eliminate friendly fraud, but it can materially reduce avoidable chargebacks and save operators hours per week on dispute admin.
