ChargeHold

ChargeHold is a mobile + web app for car rental operators to prevent, document, and settle EV charging-related fees (low battery returns, idle fees, charger receipts, and “I charged it” claims). It guides staff and customers through a standardized check-in/out flow: capture battery % and range, timestamped photos/video of the dash, and optional OBD/BLE telemetry pulls when supported. Customers can upload charging receipts or link a charging-session email, and the app auto-matches sessions by time/location to the rental window. A rules engine calculates fair post-rental charges (or refunds) based on your policy, local electricity rates, and documented evidence, then generates a dispute-ready report. This is not a full rental management system; it plugs into existing tools and focuses on one ugly, expensive problem that’s getting worse as EV fleets grow.
