ChargeTrace is a mobile + desktop app that helps people and IT teams diagnose charging and power-drain problems using real measurements instead of guesses. On Android and Windows, it reads system battery/charger telemetry (where available) and runs guided tests: idle drain, screen-on drain, sleep drain, and charger/cable sanity checks. It then generates a plain-English report: likely culprit (app, driver, USB port, hub, power plan, battery health), confidence level, and exact steps to verify. For iOS/macOS, it provides a lighter mode using user-entered observations plus optional accessory data (e.g., smart plugs/USB meters) because Apple restricts low-level power metrics. The app is brutally practical: it won’t promise miracles—if the OS can’t expose data, it says so and suggests the cheapest external meter to get answers. Exportable reports make it useful for warranty claims and IT tickets.
