Check-In Compass

Check-In Compass is a mobile app (iOS/Android) for families that turns “stranger danger” into practical, low-drama routines. Kids use big-button check-ins (“I’m here,” “I’m leaving,” “Need help”) that share location and a short status to guardians. The core feature is Adult Verify: parents pre-create a list of approved adults (coach, neighbor, friend’s parent) with a QR code or short passphrase. If someone claims “your mom sent me,” the kid can request the passphrase or scan the QR on the adult’s phone to confirm. If verification fails, the app guides the child through a simple script (“I need to call my parent first”) and triggers an alert with live location. A parent web dashboard manages approved adults, safe places, and school-day schedules. This won’t stop all threats, but it reduces common manipulation scenarios and improves response time.
