CipherTrace
CipherTrace is a developer-focused web app plus CLI that scans codebases for cryptographic misuse and insecure patterns that static analyzers routinely miss. It detects issues like weak randomness, unsafe modes (ECB), missing AEAD, nonce reuse risks, homegrown crypto, improper key derivation, bad TLS validation, and fragile signature verification flows. It maps findings to concrete exploit scenarios, suggests safer primitives, and generates minimal patch diffs with tests. The product is realistic: it won’t “prove” your crypto is correct, but it can eliminate common, high-impact mistakes that cause real breaches. It integrates into GitHub/GitLab CI, supports policy gates (block merges on critical findings), and produces audit-ready reports for security reviews. It also includes a curated ruleset per language/framework and a “crypto inventory” view so teams know where keys, ciphers, and protocols are used across services.
