CircuLink
CircuLink is a web app (with optional mobile staff companion) that streamlines interlibrary loan (ILL) and item transit workflows for small-to-mid libraries that can’t afford heavy enterprise systems. It centralizes requests from patrons and partner libraries, auto-checks local availability, generates shipping labels, and tracks chain-of-custody events (packed, shipped, received, returned) with barcode scans. The AI component reads messy request emails/forms, extracts bibliographic details, and suggests the best lending partner based on past fill rates, turnaround time, and lending rules. It also flags likely-problem requests (missing ISBN, edition mismatch) before staff waste time. This isn’t a full ILS replacement; it’s a pragmatic layer that plugs into existing catalogs and resource-sharing networks via APIs and exports. The goal is fewer lost items, faster turnaround, and less staff time spent on back-and-forth emails and spreadsheets.
