CircusProof is a mobile + web app that helps people quickly assess the animal-welfare risk of circuses and animal entertainment shows before purchasing tickets. Users search a venue or touring act and see a simple “risk rating” backed by citations: government inspection records, enforcement actions, permit status, transport violations, and credible NGO reports. The app also flags misleading marketing (e.g., “rescue animals,” “sanctuary partners”) by linking to primary sources and showing what’s actually verifiable. A lightweight browser extension can surface the rating directly on ticketing pages. This is not a magic truth machine: data will be incomplete, some operators will be opaque, and ratings must be conservative and transparent about uncertainty. The value is reducing research time from hours to minutes and making ethical choices easier at the point of purchase.
