CiteCheckr

CiteCheckr is a web + mobile AI app that audits student papers for citation and source integrity. Students paste a draft or upload a document; the app extracts claims, matches them to in-text citations, and verifies that each cited source actually supports the referenced statement. It flags common failure points: missing citations, mismatched page numbers, broken DOIs/URLs, fabricated references, and “citation laundering” where a source is real but irrelevant. It also generates a clean “evidence map” showing which paragraphs are supported by which sources, plus a checklist for fixes. This is not a full writing assistant; it’s a quality-control layer designed to reduce accidental plagiarism and sloppy referencing. It works best for APA/MLA/Chicago and supports PDFs, Google Docs export, and a simple instructor view for quick spot checks.
