CiteLedger
CiteLedger is a web app (with a lightweight browser extension) that helps researchers audit whether the key claims in a manuscript are actually supported by the cited passages. Users highlight a sentence in their draft, link it to one or more quotes or figure panels from PDFs, and store the evidence as a structured “claim card” with page numbers, snippets, and confidence notes. The app generates an exportable “evidence appendix” for internal lab review and flags risky patterns: missing primary sources, over-strong wording vs. weak evidence, and citations that don’t contain the claimed result. It’s not a magic fact-checker; it’s a workflow tool that makes verification fast and reviewable. Teams can collaborate, assign claim checks, and keep a living evidence trail across revisions. This reduces embarrassing corrections, reviewer pushback, and time wasted hunting through PDFs.
