CiteNest

CiteNest is a web + mobile app that helps genealogists capture claims ("Great-grandpa was born in 1892"), attach evidence (photos, certificates, census snippets), and automatically generate clean citations and a confidence score per claim. Instead of building yet another giant family tree, it focuses on proof: what you know, why you think it’s true, and what’s missing. Users can create “research tasks” (e.g., find 1910 census entry), track repository calls, and export a proof packet (PDF) to share with relatives or upload to other genealogy platforms. The app supports quick mobile scanning of documents, structured transcription fields, and a lightweight timeline view per person. It’s designed for serious hobbyists who are tired of unsourced trees and for family historians who want their work to survive scrutiny.
