CiteProof

CiteProof is a web app (with a lightweight Word/Google Docs add-on) that audits academic manuscripts for citation and reference-list integrity. It flags missing references, mismatched years/authors, broken DOIs, inconsistent styles, and suspicious “phantom citations” that don’t actually support the claim. It also checks whether cited papers are retracted, corrected, or predatory-journal publications, and suggests safer alternative sources when possible. This is an AI + traditional app: AI helps parse messy PDFs, extract bibliographic metadata, and map in-text citations to references; deterministic rules handle style compliance and exact matching. The goal is not to write your paper—it's to prevent embarrassing, time-wasting submission rejections and reviewer complaints. Universities and labs can deploy it as a shared quality gate before thesis submission, preprints, or journal uploads.
