CivicLens is a web + mobile AI-assisted research app that helps users understand political philosophies by mapping claims to primary sources and real policy outcomes. Users pick an ideology (e.g., liberalism, conservatism, socialism, anarchism) or a thinker (Rawls, Hayek, Marx, Arendt) and ask questions in plain language. The app returns a structured brief: key premises, strongest arguments, strongest critiques, and where the idea historically succeeded or failed—each with citations to original texts, reputable academic summaries, and datasets. A “steelman mode” forces the app to present the best version of opposing views before letting users debate. It’s not a social network; it’s a study tool with guardrails, transparency, and exportable reading lists for classes, book clubs, and journalists.
