CivicSignal

CivicSignal tracks local government actions that quietly affect residents—zoning changes, street closures, fee hikes, new ordinances, and public comment windows—then turns them into plain-language alerts. Users pick an address and interests (housing, transit, small business, schools) and get a weekly digest plus urgent notifications when something nearby is proposed. The app links directly to the source agenda item, map location, and deadlines, and provides a one-click “comment builder” that drafts a short, respectful message users can edit and submit. It also shows a timeline of where an item is in the process and who represents you. This is a web app + mobile app, and it’s a combination traditional + AI app (AI for summarization and drafting; traditional for data ingestion, mapping, and notifications). The hard truth: coverage will be uneven because many municipalities publish messy data, so you must start with a few cities and expand cautiously.
