ClaimTrace is a web + mobile AI-assisted media literacy tool that turns news, videos, and social posts into a “claim timeline.” Paste a link or upload a clip, and it extracts the key factual claims, then shows where else those claims appear, how wording shifts, and which outlets add or remove crucial context. It highlights rhetorical tricks (loaded framing, false balance, cherry-picked stats) with short explanations and links to primary sources when available. Users can save a claim, follow it over time, and get alerts when the claim mutates or gets corrected. The product is realistic because it avoids pretending to be a universal truth machine: it focuses on traceability, provenance, and change detection, not declaring what’s “true.” It also offers classroom/team workspaces with shared annotations and a lightweight rubric for evaluating reliability.
